1. Is our group's data safe?
We take it seriously. Each group's records are kept separate from every other group's. Corrections are added as new entries, so there is a trail of who did what. You can export everything whenever you like. Read the full details on our Data and Privacy page.
2. What happens when I am replaced as treasurer?
That is what the handover is for. You invite the new treasurer. They see the full history, the funds and the past reports. You can then step back to view-only or leave. Nothing is lost.
3. Does it work on a Mac or a phone?
Yes. It runs in a web browser, so it works on Mac, Windows and Chromebook, and on a phone or tablet. There is no app to install. It needs an internet connection in this first version.
4. Can I get my data out?
Yes, any time. Export everything to CSV and your reports to PDF. We do not lock your records in.
5. What is not included?
No online payments or ticket sales. No payroll. No tax filing. No bank feeds. Countaline is a simple record-keeping tool for the treasurer, not accounting software.
6. Do I have to send receipts to members?
No. Member receipts are optional. If you use them, each one lists payments with date and amount, and you add your own wording. We do not give tax advice.
7. When does it start, and what if you are late?
The first version ships by January 15, 2027. Your first year starts when your account opens, not when you pay. If we miss that date, or you change your mind before it ships, you get a full refund. You can also cancel anytime.
8. Who are you?
